The National Social Housing Fire Strategy Group (NSHFSG) was formed in 2011 and it’s membership is made up of Social Housing providers across England and Wales. One of the main aims of the group is to establish and impact on national policy in relation to fire safety in our communities.
It is the housing sector that can make a difference and shape fire safety to make our communities safer.
The group was formed as a result of the sector needing to shape the way fire safety is managed within the Social Housing sector following the devastating effects of Lakanal House and other similar events.
The National Social Housing Fire Strategy Group remain an independent body however members attend various groups and meetings, speak at conferences and seminars.
The group is sector led through regional strategy groups led by social housing providers. Local issues and good practice are shared and discussed with the aim of feeding into the national agenda and improving fire safety within our communities.
